Why This Policy Exists
Viram runs with a maximum of 15 participants. Every confirmed spot is a spot we hold — and a spot we decline to give to other applicants. When you confirm your place, you are not buying a ticket to an event. You are joining a cohort that Amit prepares for specifically, with your background, your situation, and your goals in mind.
This is why we do not offer monetary refunds. The cost of your place goes directly into the preparation, the property, the meals, the materials, and Amit's time — all of which are committed well before the retreat begins.
What we offer instead is something we believe is more valuable: a guarantee that your investment will be used. If genuine circumstances prevent you from attending, we will make sure you get to Viram — in this cohort or the next.
If you have any questions about this policy before booking, bring them to the clarity call. It is a much easier conversation before a commitment than after one.
No Monetary Refunds
Pause and Arrive does not offer monetary refunds on retreat investments under any circumstance, including voluntary cancellations, changes in personal circumstance, or a change of mind.
This is not an oversight. It is a considered position, clearly stated here so there is no ambiguity at the point of booking. By confirming your place and completing payment, you agree to this policy.
Your two options if you cannot attend are a spot transfer (Section 3) or an emergency rollover (Section 4). Both are designed to ensure your investment is not wasted.
Transfer Your Spot
At any point up to 5 days before the retreat start date, you may transfer your confirmed spot to another person. This option is available to all registered participants and requires no justification or approval beyond the conditions below.
- The transfer must be requested in writing to amit@pauseandarrive.com at least 5 days before the retreat
- The incoming participant must be an adult (18 years or older)
- The incoming participant must be broadly aligned with the cohort profile — professionals, founders, or senior leaders experiencing what the retreat is designed for
- Amit reserves the right to decline a transfer if the incoming participant is clearly not the right fit for the cohort, in which case the rollover option applies
- No additional charge is levied for a transfer
Email amit@pauseandarrive.com with your name, the cohort date, and the name and contact details of the person taking your place. Amit will connect with them directly to complete a brief orientation before the retreat.
Emergency Rollover
If a qualifying emergency prevents you from attending — and you are unable to arrange a transfer — your investment rolls over to the next available Viram cohort. Your spot in the next cohort is confirmed at no additional charge.
A rollover is available once per registration. If you are unable to attend the next cohort as well, a second rollover may be considered at Amit's discretion, but is not guaranteed.
Rollovers are not available for voluntary cancellations, a change of mind, scheduling conflicts, work commitments, or travel inconvenience. These situations are covered by the transfer option.
- Contact amit@pauseandarrive.com as soon as you know you cannot attend
- Briefly explain the situation — you do not need to share more than you are comfortable sharing
- Where relevant, provide supporting documentation (a medical certificate, for example)
- Amit will confirm your rollover to the next cohort within 48 hours
What Qualifies as a Genuine Emergency
To keep this policy fair and unambiguous, the following situations qualify for an emergency rollover. This list is not exhaustive — genuinely unusual circumstances will be considered with discretion.
- Medical emergency — a serious illness or hospitalisation of you or an immediate family member (spouse, child, parent, sibling) that prevents travel or attendance
- Bereavement — the death of an immediate family member within 14 days of the retreat
- Natural disaster or civil emergency — a government-declared natural disaster, civil emergency, or situation that makes travel impossible
- Serious accident — a significant accident resulting in injury that prevents travel, supported by medical documentation
- Work commitments, deadlines, or unexpected professional obligations
- Travel disruptions due to flight cancellations or missed connections (travel insurance covers this)
- Change of mind or personal circumstances unrelated to the above
- Financial difficulty (the investment was confirmed at the time of booking)
- Minor illness that does not prevent travel — a cold or mild fever, for example
Email amit@pauseandarrive.com and describe what has happened. Amit will respond personally and let you know whether your situation qualifies. There is no harm in asking — the conversation is always handled with discretion and care.
If Pause and Arrive Cancels
In the rare event that Pause and Arrive cancels a scheduled cohort — due to unforeseen circumstances, insufficient registrations, or any reason on our side — you will receive one of the following, at your choice:
- Full monetary refund of your retreat investment, processed within 7 business days
- Priority placement in the next available cohort at the same investment, with confirmed booking
This is the only situation in which a monetary refund is issued. We will notify you as early as possible if a cancellation becomes necessary and work with you to find the best path forward.
Pause and Arrive is not liable for any travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred in preparation for the retreat. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for any non-refundable bookings made in connection with Viram.
No-Shows and Early Departures
No-shows — participants who do not arrive on the retreat start date without prior notice — forfeit their investment entirely. No transfer or rollover is available after the retreat has begun without prior arrangement.
Early departures — participants who arrive but choose to leave before the retreat ends — do not receive a partial credit, transfer, or rollover. Viram is designed as a four-day experience and the days build on each other. If you have concerns about completing the full four days, please discuss them with Amit before confirming your place.
How to Make a Request
All transfer and rollover requests must be made in writing. To submit a request:
- Email amit@pauseandarrive.com with the subject line: "Transfer Request" or "Rollover Request — [Your Name] — [Cohort Date]"
- Include your full name, the cohort date you are registered for, and your reason
- For emergency rollovers, include any relevant supporting documentation
- For transfers, include the name and contact details of the incoming participant
Amit will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and confirm the outcome within 48 hours. Requests made by phone call or social media message are not accepted as formal notices.
Other Purchases
For products or services purchased through pauseandarrive.com that are not the Viram retreat:
- Digital products — once downloaded or accessed, non-refundable
- Books — physical copies may be returned in original condition within 14 days of delivery for a full refund
- Coaching or consultation sessions — cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled session receive a full credit toward another session; cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable
Disputes
If you are not satisfied with how a request has been handled, email amit@pauseandarrive.com directly with your concern. Amit reads every email and will respond personally. We would always rather resolve a dispute through a direct conversation than through a payment processor or legal process.
If you initiate a payment chargeback without first contacting us and allowing reasonable time for resolution, we reserve the right to contest it and provide documentation of this policy and your agreement to it at the time of purchase.
